The 103rd installment of the Indy 500 is almost here, as the top drivers in the world prepare to touch down at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and compete for the Borg-Warner Trophy.
Arguably the biggest race in motor sports, the Indy 500 attracts a lot of attention even from non-racing enthusiasts and understandably drums up interest from sports bettors.
Our own Jerry Summer handed out his 2019 Indy 500 predictions in a recent breakdown, singling outAlexander Rossi and Josef Newgarden as two of the best IndyCar drivers to bet on when the race hits the track on May 26th.
It’s hard to go against his logic. Both men carry strong +800 odds into the Indy 500, and Rossi won this event back in 2016. Newgarden hasn’t reached that height in his racing career just yet,but there’s a first time for everything.
Regardless, the 28-year-old American has 11 wins to his name and has cracked the top 10 in three of his last four tries at the Indianapolis 500. He’ll be one of the top contenders when the racefires off in less than two full weeks.
But what about Indy 500 sleepers? Let’s run through things and see if there’s any value in betting on some of the less favored drivers for this year’s race.
The Dolphins and Bills finished the season 11-5 against the spread, tops among all teams. At the other end, the Cowboys' 5-11 ATS record is at the bottom of the standings. For the season, underdogs covered 55.5% of the games, with away 'dogs hitting at 56%.

O/U: 7-9
What we know: Dolphins didn't cover for only the third time in the past 12 games. Their 11-5 ATS record finishes tied for best record in the league.
New York Jets

Baltimore Ravens
ATS: 10-5-1
O/U: 7-9
What we know: The Ravens finish with six straight covers and 10-5-1 on the season. They are a road favorite next week at Tennessee.
